JOB SUMMARY:
The Jr. Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer will support the Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Team (SCAT) in managing and carrying out sustainability efforts of UGEP. The Jr. Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer will be responsible for collecting and organizing information from project sites and company operations to update the ESG
database and provide timely inputs to the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reports. The position entails data collection, compliance monitoring and reporting, reporting, and strong interpersonal skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect, organize, and present ESG performance data, ensuring accuracy of data, timely reporting, and accessibility of information.
  • Monitor the implementation and compliance of projects and company activities with ESG policies and standards (e.g., Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAPs), environmental compliance certificate (ECC) conditions, and other ESG policies and standards.
  • Maintain ESG documentation and records, including ESG database, supplier assessment, client profiling, compliance tracking, and ESG management system documentation.
  • Support in the preparation of ESG reports, including annual sustainability reports, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information.

Outputs:

  • Updated monthly ESG database, to cover requirements for:
    o E&S Annual Reporting to Clime
    o IMMS impact reporting,
    o Reporting to Sarona
    o other requirements from investors
  • Inputs to project monitoring reports (e.g., self-monitoring reports, compliance monitoring reports, etc.)
  • Other outputs that may be assigned by the ESG Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree in environmental science, social sciences, international development, sustainability, engineering, business, or related fields
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing preferred
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and integrity
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, ISAE 3000) is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word
  • Interest or experience in renewable energy, sustainability consulting, or ESG management is beneficial but not always required
  • Willing to travel and conduct fieldwork as needed.
