JOB SUMMARY:
The O&M Field Engineer performs hands-on work directly at the solar rooftop project sites,
executing maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring on-site safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute Scheduled Maintenance:
- Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks as per work orders (panel cleaning, visual
inspections, connection checks, basic tests). - Document all PM activities via service reports or mobile tools.
On-Site Troubleshooting & Corrective Maintenance:
- Travel to sites to diagnose and repair faults.
- Utilize diagnostic tools (multimeters, thermal imagers, etc.) for on-site fault finding.
- Perform corrective actions, including component replacements (panels, inverters,
fuses, etc.). - Troubleshoot on-site monitoring and communication hardware.
- Test system operation post-repair.
Site Inspections & Audits:
- Conduct detailed site inspections and audits as required.
- Assess site conditions, safety hazards, and potential performance impacts (e.g., new
shading).
Safety Implementation & Compliance:
- Strictly adhere to all safety procedures (working at heights, LOTO, electrical safety, PPE
usage). - Conduct on-site Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Ensure work area safety.
- Report safety incidents, near misses, or hazards promptly.
Field Reporting & Documentation:
- Accurately complete field service reports, work orders, and checklists.
- Document actions taken, time, parts used, and system readings.
- Provide clear photos for documentation.
- Provide timely feedback to the O&M Office Engineer.
- Update CMMS/reporting tools from the field if applicable.
On-Site Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with building administrators, facility managers, or security for site access and
coordination. - Maintain professionalism when interacting with client representatives on site.
Tool, Equipment & Inventory Management:
- Ensure O&M activities align with contracts, regulations (e.g., relevant ERC guidelines),
and safety standards from an oversight perspective. - Assist in maintaining safety protocol documentation.
Process Improvement:
- Maintain assigned tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Manage basic vehicle stock/inventory.
- Report tool/equipment needs or malfunctions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Candidates must be at least Bachelor’s/College degree in Electrical Engineering;
- With at least 2-3 years of related work experience in the solar industry, preferably with
expertise in Huawei equipment. - Knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems, electrical systems, and related components.
- Proficiency in using SCADA systems and other monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in both independent
and team environments. - Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using MS office (such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and AutoCAD.
- he successful candidate must be willing to conduct regular site visits in Metro Manila,
Calamba (Laguna), Batangas, Pampanga, and Tuguegarao, with occasional travel to
Visayas and Mindanao.
